A Clinico-Demographic Evaluation of Patients with Oral Submucous Fibrosis: a Cross Sectional Study

Aim: To evaluate the Clinico-Demographic variables in patients of Oral Submucous Fibrosis
 Study Design: Descriptive Cross Sectional
 Place and Duration Study: Department Maxillofacial Surgery, Liaquat Medical University Hospital from December 2017 to February 2019.
 Methodology: The recruitment was done after clinical diagnosis oral sub mucous fibrosis (OSMF) patients. demographic information associated factors were recorded on proforma. Mouth opening (MO) measured between upper lower central incisors with vernier caliper. Burning sensation (BS) pain using Visual Analog Scale (VAS). data analyzed by SPSS Version-16.
 Results: Male female (66%) (34%) respectively. mean age 41.04±11.24. frequency gutka usage 44% 43% followed betel nut as 21% 23% functional stages per Inter Incisal Opening (IIMO-2) (IIMO-3) BS shown severe 49% 40% moderate 32% 37% IIMO-2 IIMO-3 respectively whereas 82% 18% 63% stage M2 M3 showed statistically significant relationship (p=0.041).
 Conclusion: Males more affected middle aged involved. Majority had 3rd mouth opening. burning most common complains. There pain.
